Silky Terrier Breed Information

The Silky Terrier breed is a fine-boned, compact, cheerful, energetic, curious and long-hraired dog. This breed is also known as the Sidney Terrier. They have erect, v-shaped ears and docked tails. This breed likes to be close to their family. Normally they get along well with children if properly socialized as a puppy.

Characteristics and temperaments: The Silky Terrier is a lively, intelligent, protective and loyal dog. They are cheerful and sociable, full of energy and enthusiastic digger. This breed is good for apartment life and very active indoors. They can get along with children if properly socialized, but can pick fights with other dogs.
Care: The dog needs daily combing and brushing to prevent matting. Bathe regularly to keep the coat in top condition. This breed sheds little to no hair.
Training and activity: This breed is very intelligent. Training should be straight-forward because they are eager to learn and please. When it comes to activities, they will automatically adapt to the activity level of the family members. Regular run and play are appreciated though as they may have excessive energy to burn.
