The Anatolian Shepherd dog contributes a lot to the service of man. This breed is powerful, large, noble and a great guardian for livestock. Possessing a great amount of endurance, this dog demands a large yard to exercise.

Breed Weight: 80 - 150 lbs.

Breed Height: 27 - 29 inches.

Color(s): any color is acceptable, bust mostly fawn with black mask.

Coat: smooth and shot, longer around neck.

Characteristics and temperaments: Anatolian Shepherd is loyal, possessive and sometimes dominant and stubborn. The dog can raise alertness against strangers. Properly socialized, they can rarely raise a problem with children in the family.

Care: More grooming is needed during shedding, which happens twice a year. It only requires very little grooming on other days of the year.

Training and activity: The Anatolian Shepherd breed needs a lot of exercise. A large yard with a fence is required because it is quite inactive indoors.
